Evaluation

What we have to do here:

Rolfe et al each week.

Week One:

Image result for what now what so whatI will reflect on Fridays about this report. Rolfe et al- model of reflection.

What...

-production documentation.

Was my role in the situation?

I was producing my Live project.

was I trying to achieve?

I was trying to plan out every scenario that could happen on the shoot, what I was going to need and who I was going to need, where I was going to film and how to prevent accidents happening in these places. I was also planning out how the shoot was going to look and where I was filming within the location.

What action did I take?

I went to the location and planned out where I was going to set up cameras and what was going to be in the shot and used as a stage.
...was the response of others?

I didn't get a response from others, in my focus group and my survey showed me that I had got my target audience based on.
...were the consequences me and other?

N/A

...were the feelings of me and other?

I was happy with my quality of each document that I have done.
...was good or bad?

The good parts are that I completed each document to the standard I wanted it at. The bad is

So What...

Does this tell me?

That I had successfully planned out the situation

Does this teach me?

That I can successfully plan out scenarios on documents and put them into practice.

Was going through my mind when I acted?

Going over the situations to see if I missed anything

Does this imply?

That I was still thinking about what else could go wrong with the shoot

Does this mean about me?

that I am an overthinker, but for this purpose, it was a good thing

Did I base my actions upon?

What the room looked like and what was there, what wires and cables and where the cameras were going to be and any other things that could affect the documentation of risk and recce forms.

Is a new understanding situation?
That even a basically empty room has so many ways of having serious risks.

Are the broader issues?

No, not that I can see at this time.

Now What...

Do I do to make this better?

To go over the documents one more time before and after the shoots to see if I have/ have missed anything. Stop being stuck?

Now I will move onto booking and getting production on the way.Do I do to resolve the problems I faced?

I will have to handle them as they come if they are not ones I planned for, then I will have to figure out a new way of getting around that there and there.
Broader issues that need to be considered?

Getting the equipment
Finding times where all talent and crew are free
getting props and things that I need for them to do the tasks.
Practising the tasks to make sure they work.

Final consequences?

Cat - What you've done so far is good if you complete the rest like you have started this section will be done well.

Week Two:

What...

Was my role in the situation?

Doing Research for my project.

was I trying to achieve?

Find my Target audience and how to set and create this whole project for that target audience.

What action did I take?

I looked at books, websites, blogs and YouTube videos to figure out this. I found a book, blog, webpage, YouTube Videos and a theory that fits all of my things that I wanted to research. This was going to help me to give the project the correct feel that I need to appeal to the target audience. This research also made the target audience much clearer to me.

...was the response of others?

I got primary research from online groups and peers, the response of the primary research was almost identical

...were the consequences me and other?

No, there were no consequences I can think of within the research part of this project.

...were the feelings of me and other?

I felt even more confident about my project as I knew what I was doing and why I was doing them.

...was good or bad?

Good, there was a lot of good information on the websites and books I found. The people I asked were reliable and the results came back consistent so the results were clear and really did help me.
Bad, there wasn't much if at all any bad. If there was any bad it was I could have gotten more peer feedback.

So What...

Does this tell me?

That my target audience is a teen male that lives in the Midlands and going more southern, they are in college or in some kind of education. Is the oldest or middle child. They either live with their parents still or are in a uni accommodation. Age ranging around 16-early 20s.

Does this teach me?

That I now know who is watching this show, so now I can base it around them. Think about when it would be scheduled on TV and what programme it would be on what day and what time. This research helped me pin everything else into place.

Was going through my mind when I acted?

I needed to know who this show was for. Even though there will be anomalies to this target audience but the majority is what I was looking for.

Does this imply?

That I know what to target the tasks, talent and host to look and act like as I want the viewers to relate to the host and sometimes to the talent, eg. when they think of the same solutions.

Does this mean about me?

I know what kind of people I was looking for when it comes to contestants and a host.

Did I base my actions upon?

The research I found about the original and the US version
Is a new understanding situation?
I know what kind of person I am aiming everything to, a college /uni undergraduate students

Are the broader issues?

I need to put in my thoughts on the research I found and how it applies to my project.

Now What...

Do I do to make this better?

Add to my research and add my own thoughts to them.

Stop being stuck?

I need to find my talent over this next week as I need to know who is going to be my talent

Do I do to resolve the problems I faced?

To ask around the class and other media groups to see if anyone wants to participate in my show.

Broader issues that need to be considered?

 Production
-Timings for project
-Talent- finding people who can help me
-bookings and knowing when everyone is free to help me.

Week Three:

What...

Was my role in the situation?

Producer/ Camera Operator/ Director

was I trying to achieve?

I wanted to record the pre-recorded tasks for my production so I could get them edited and done so I could film the studio reaction as soon as possible.

What action did I take?

I set up the room I had booked to record the tasks in. Then asked my talent one by one to come and complete the three tasks and then to go and get the next person. The following day I got them to do the team tasks and the tie-breaker, this was not needed as there was a clear winner in the show.

...was the response of others?

The talent had fun and really enjoyed all of the tasks, some of them were a little annoyed with some tasks as they could not think of a way to get around them at first or later/ after the task thought of a better way of doing the task.

...were the consequences me and other?

This was a risky thing to create as I look back at what happened. I couldn't know what the contestants were thinking and I didn't know how or what they would do when I responded in a cryptic way. They could have done anything with the information they were given.

...were the feelings of me and other?

I was nervous before filming the tasks, that they weren't going to go to plan, that no one would do the funnier ways of the task, no one was going to find the easier way of doing something/ the smarter way. Or the polar opposite the task was way easier than I planned for and everyone did it with ease.

...was good or bad?

Overall, the tasks went amazing. Nearly all of the ways were done to how I planned and there were even a few I didn't think of. Tom anagramming the things on the table to be able to make a word. It didn't work for him but it was a good unique idea.

So What...

Does this tell me?

That even though I tested these tasks, people come up with their own ways of getting over things and interpreting the same information differently.

Does this teach me?

Everyone has their own prosses of taking in information and coming up with their own solution for a problem using the information given to them.

Was going through my mind when I acted?

As we started getting into filming I was really happy it was going so well and that everyone did such different things or similar things in different ways to make it feel like a new way.

Does this imply?

That my project was going to be filled with people explaining their own way of thinking and seeing what others thought about it.

Does this mean about me?

About me, nothing apart from I may have thought about most of the ways to get around a problem but I did miss a few more that were perhaps a little more out there and complex for the challenge that I was thinking of.

Did I base my actions upon?

I based the tasks and how they were presented on the original show 'TaskMaster' This helped me when it came to thinking of a feel for the tasks and how I wanted it to overall look on camera.
Is a new understanding situation?
There are a lot of more different ways you can get around a task if you think about it enough but there will always be one or two you don't even consider.

Are the broader issues?

The rooms background noise was a little loud so I am hoping in the final edit it doesn't overpower the talents' voices and you can hear them clearly instead of getting drowned out by the fans that were auto on. I couldnt turn them off so it was just something I had to deal with.

Now What...

Do I do to make this better?

Make sure the sound hasn't compromised the audio of the VT footage. If it is loud put the audio in Adobe Audition and figure out how to fix it.

Stop being stuck?

Move onto editing the VTs' and then book and prepare for the Studio recording.

Do I do to resolve the problems I faced?

With this part of the project, I didn't have many problems. The only real problem I had was on Dean and Tom's team task my camera operator forgot to press recording on one of the camera's their for making that one part of the VT's, not multi-camera.

Broader issues that need to be considered?

Studio shoot
Time left
Write ups on all of the production work I have done.
